About

Radio History

The Hot and Cold radio program started at a 5000 watt AM radio station in Bangor, Maine around 1989. Professor Dick Hill was our first guest, and after proving to be an invaluable fountain of knowledge, he quickly became a permanent part of our radio program.

A couple of years later, we landed at WVOM 103.9 FM and 101.3 FM where we still broadcast almost every Saturday from 8 to 10 am and have outlasted most station owners and managers. We are nothing if not persistent!

Television History

Around 1995, we started to produce the Hot and Cold television program. It was originally on at 6:30 on Saturday mornings opposite Yogi Bear. Surprisingly, we got better ratings than Yogi! We figured we had to be on to something.

Now in our second decade of producing the Hot and Cold TV program, we are now shooting in High Definition. As it always has been, Hot and Cold is still locally produced. We previously broadcasted on Maine Public Television and previous seasons are still airing on public access channels across the nation! We are (slowly) uploading all Hot and Colds to YouTube for posterity!

Our Goal

Our nation is facing dire times in regards to energy and climate and there are tons of misinformed folks giving poor advice on energy and heating matters. Our hope is that we are able to shed some light on these issues in a way that is both fun and easy to understand!
